About the Role
This role provides expert clinical consultancy and coordination of the Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) speciality in accordance with IB2024_009 CNC2 domains and functions.
The role supports patients, families and multidisciplinary teams through complex decision-making, while driving service development, education and quality improvement.
Developing and delivering specialist education and training programs focused on VAD and end-of-life care decision making. Ensure continuous professional development of the clinical workforce through mentorship, supervision and tailored educational resources.
We are offering 2 part time roles at 24 hours each, one role is based in Coffs Harbour, and the other role is based in Port Macquarie.
Responsibilities (illustrative)
- Provide expert clinical consultancy and coordination of the VAD speciality.
- Support patients, families and multidisciplinary teams through complex decision-making.
- Drive service development, education and quality improvement related to VAD and end-of-life care.
- Develop and deliver specialist education and training programs focused on VAD; ensure continuous professional development through mentorship, supervision and tailored educational resources.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the continuum of care to implement service improvements.
About You
You will need to hold a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with at least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience and post-graduate qualifications in palliative and end-of-life care, along with proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with patients, carers, health professionals and services across the continuum of care.
Ability to drive strategic improvements in the delivery of VAD services through evaluation of current practices, service trends and patient outcomes, and lead service improvement initiatives aligned with organisational goals to ensure continuous service enhancement and advancement of clinical practice.
