The OpportunityYou will liaise with academic staff to determine practical teaching requirements and prepare materials and laboratories. You will enable undergraduate laboratory-based teaching activities, including Medical Laboratory Sciences such as Blood Banking and Histology, through operational processes and expert technical knowledge. A key function is assisting the Team Leader (Science) to ensure laboratories are well-resourced, equipped, and set up for teaching.You willProvide technical support and expertise to undergraduate laboratory teaching programs, including Medical Laboratory Science (Pathology), ensuring quality practical experiences and successful achievement of learning outcomes;Contribute to method development and problem-solving of procedures, aiding in new technique implementation within teaching laboratories;Promote safe working practices, including compliance with risk and waste management, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.About youYou possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth operation of teaching, including technology-enabled learning tools. Your strong communication skills help build trust and foster collaboration across staff, maintaining positive relationships within the university community.Your organizational and time management abilities enable you to deliver high-quality client service in fast-paced environments, meeting priorities and achieving outcomes. Working independently and collaboratively, you contribute to a supportive workplace culture and shared success.You will possess:A relevant degree or equivalent combination of experience and education/training;Experience providing technical support in pathology, teaching, or research, including reagent preparation, operating laboratory equipment, and conducting routine tests;Knowledge of and ability to follow work instructions, policies, safety guidelines, and legislation related to laboratory services, including waste management and risk assessment;Current class ‘C’ Drivers Licence.UniSC is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
