Job Description
This role is ideal for a Senior Accountant who enjoys autonomy, client interaction, and contributing beyond day-to-day compliance. You will manage a portfolio of SME clients, collaborate closely with senior leaders, and play an active role in developing junior team members.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing a dedicated client portfolio with limited day-to-day supervision
* Preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and compliance work
* Identifying opportunities to support clients outside standard compliance requirements
* Contributing to advisory discussions and value-add services
* Supporting, mentoring, and training junior team members when required
* Working closely with senior leadership to review work and deliver quality outcomes
* Ensuring work is completed efficiently, accurately, and within agreed timeframes
Successful Applicant
You are proactive, commercially aware, and confident managing client relationships. You enjoy working in a team environment but are equally comfortable taking ownership of your work.
You will ideally have:
* 5+ years’ experience in Australian public practice
* CA or CPA qualification completed
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proven ability to manage clients independently
* High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
* A positive, team-focused mindset
* Experience using Xero (highly regarded)
* A commitment to ongoing professional development
