They model respectful relationships, foster curiosity and a growth mindset, and provide multiple pathways for student success.Central to the school's success is a strong commitment to building and sustaining positive partnerships with students, families, carers, and the broader school community.Job Description:Canberra HS is seeking a dynamic and motivated school leader. The successful applicant will be an instructional leader who builds strong, respectful and productive relationships with all members of the school community and provides strategic leadership, coaching and mentoring support to implement school programs and initiativesThe successful applicant will;Serve as an accountable member of the Senior Leadership Team, leading strategic and operational planning with a focus on inclusion, wellbeing, and targeted learning support.Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of a whole-school, evidence-informed Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), incorporating an embedded Response to Intervention (RTI) model across Student Services, Flexible Learning, VET, and Careers Education.Drive a consistent, whole-school approach to behaviour management, including staff capability-building in age-appropriate strategies and restorative practices.Oversee the development of and deliver data-driven intervention programs for students with additional needs, including those with social-emotional challenges and intellectual disabilities, ensuring measurable outcomes.Plan for and implement the legislative, financial, and educational responsibilities aligned to the ACT Education Inclusion Strategy, embedding these into school systems and resource planning.Manage daily staffing operations to ensure efficient use of resources, addressing emerging needs within budget and securing additional support as required.Support the Executive Team to foster inclusive, innovative teaching and learning, and a whole-school culture of wellbeing and engagement.Lead school-wide portfolios including Student Management, Wellbeing, Enrolments, and Transitions, ensuring effective systems and improved student outcomes.Build and sustain partnerships with parents, external agencies, community groups, and industry to support student pathways and engagement.Deliver a targeted teaching load as required, particularly in programs supporting students with additional learning or wellbeing needsWe are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community.
