Biosecurity is non-negotiable: you cannot have chickens, birds or pigs at home, nor can you live with others in your household who work with these animals.
About the Role
You will be a valued member of the supportive and friendly maintenance team, undertaking a diverse range of tasks to keep our world-class Hatchery business in good shape. Your role will include general maintenance repairs to production plant and equipment. This role reports to the Hatchery Maintenance Manager in Allora.
Our chickens are a precious commodity, and all employees are restricted from keeping any birds, poultry or pigs at their premises. You will be required to shower-in and shower-out of our facility each day. Tools, equipment, and uniforms are provided.
About You
This is a full-time position working 38-40 hours in five days/week, working from Friday to Tuesday with Wednesday & Thursday as days off, start time 5am, finish time 12.30-1pm on average. Flexibility is essential to meet production demands in this 24/7 operation.
The successful candidate will have:
* Basic metalwork experience
* Plant maintenance or good mechanical aptitude
* A keen worker who enjoys a variety of tasks
* Demonstrated compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Problem-solving skills
* A positive attitude & flexible approach
* Their own transport and current driver's licence
* A current forklift licence (preferred)
