Job Title: Construction Labourer
Job Summary:
This is a varied and challenging role that involves performing a range of manual labour tasks related to concrete and pavement construction. As part of a multi-skilled team, you will be responsible for placing, finishing and constructing concrete and pavement structures and surfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform manual labour tasks such as excavation, levelling, lifting and material handling to support crew operations.
* Operate and maintain tools, plant and equipment relevant to concrete and pavement construction.
* Assist in the preparation of subgrade and base materials, formwork and reinforcement, placement and finishing of concrete, and laying and compacting pavement and asphalt related materials.
* Carry out general labouring duties including undertaking specialized tasks and identifying improvements to work methods and practices.
* Work safely, efficiently and to required quality standards in line with the Council's work program.
Requirements:
* Experience using hand tools and small equipment related to concrete and pavement construction works.
* Ability to operate Trimble/total station equipment or willingness to learn if not already competent.
* Demonstrated physical agility and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting and bending.
* Queensland 'MR' class driver's licence or above that is current and maintained.
* Queensland General Construction Induction White Card or equivalent.
