Job Title: Structural Trade Superintendent
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Structural Trade Superintendent to join our AUKUS program based at our Flinders Street offices in Adelaide.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on one of Australia's most complex industrial undertakings, SSN AUKUS. As a Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of all welding activities, quality, and schedule governance within the allocated scope of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting welder qualification and authorising associated welding activities
* Implementing the welding certification framework with the Weld Engineering team
* Developing competency-based training matrices for relevant trade groups
* Ensuring 'right first time' work by checking weld preps, verifying materials, and ensuring welds meet standards
* Inputting data into relevant systems as required
* Assisting with trade handbooks, processes, and tools for relevant trade groups
About You
* International Institute of Welding (IIW) certification as an International Welding Specialist (IWS)
* Experience supervising large engineering or construction projects related to materials, fabrication, welding, inspection, and testing
* Proven leadership of multi-functional teams in complex environments, preferably in structural steel or similar industries
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders within a complex program environment
* High proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Availability to work UK hours, ideally up to 8 pm AEST (flexible start times offered)
* Possession of a valid Australian passport with ability to travel overseas
* Australian Defence security clearance holder
* Background in shipbuilding or defence sector highly desirable
