Pacific Industrial Company (PIC) is a highly regarded privately owned company with a proud 55-year history as a recognised leader in the Australian steel fabrication and construction industry, providing steel design, fabrication and construction services to the construction, mining, oil and gas sectors Australia wide.
PIC is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with strong financial and analytical skills, as well as solid interpersonal skills to engage with key stakeholders.
As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for leading, maintaining and enhancing the finance function of the business.
The position is based at our Naval Base office and reporting to the Managing Director.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Managing the day-to-day finance and accounting operations of the PIC Group including accounts payable & receivable, payment approvals, inventory costings and adjustments, general ledger reconciliations, payroll processing, creditor management, cash flow management, forecasting, insurances, IT and compliance.
Provision of relevant, timely and accurate financial information including cashflow management reports, job costings, financial dashboards and full management reports to track & forecast performance, and guide decision making.
Annual budget preparation and reporting completed accurately and on time.
Preparing company tax and BAS statements in conjunction with our external accountants.
Working with key stakeholders on major projects to manage profitability and build project financial forecasts.
Contribute to margin growth through assisting commercial decision making and cost reduction via detailed financial analyses, reporting and recommendations whilst ensuring that financial risks are managed.
Proactively inspire and lead the finance function, provide energy, inspiration and direction, implementing change management techniques and process improvement where necessary.
Ideally, the successful candidate will possess:
CA / CPA Qualifications.
A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
High-level technical finance and accounting expertise.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced financial modelling skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with key stakeholders.
Self-starter attitude, delivery-oriented and invested in the long-term success of PIC.
