Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent full time Departmental Administration Officer to join our Planning and Environment team. This position is pivotal in providing high-level administrative, project management, and business support to the Manager Planning and Environment and the broader department. You will lead the delivery of administrative, financial, and reporting responsibilities, assist with coordination of projects and community engagement activities, and contribute to process improvement initiatives that support efficient and customer‑focused services.
Qualifications and Experience
* Demonstrate integrity, ethics, and alignment with Isaac Regional Council's core values.
* Possess sound knowledge of planning and environmental services within a local government context.
* Have proven experience delivering high‑level administrative, project, and governance support to technical teams.
* Be highly skilled in the use of computer systems and software for administrative and technical support.
* Show strong interpersonal and communication skills to build effective stakeholder relationships.
* Be able to organise workloads, multi‑task, and meet competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
* Demonstrate problem‑solving ability and contribute to business improvement through process development.
* Have experience in senior office administration or supervisory roles.
* Hold a current C Class Open Australian Driver's Licence and be able to pass pre‑employment assessments.
* Desirable bring vocational qualifications in Business Administration, Project Management, or Local Government, and prior experience in local government or administrative leadership roles.
Benefits
* Salary AU $90,205.62 – $97,373.54 per annum
* Nominally 72.5 hours per fortnight
* 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
* RDO's in accordance with Council Policy
