Overview
Indirect Tax Manager role at Mercedes-Benz Australia – based at our head office in Mulgrave, Victoria.
Responsibilities
* Having a strong focus on ensuring tax compliance at a transactional level under the Direct Sale model - Retail of the Future.
* Manage all indirect tax compliance, lodgements and reporting requirements in all relevant operational jurisdictions, including GST/foreign VAT, Luxury Car Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, Stamp Duty.
* Provide tax technical input into ERP system integrity and enhancements.
* Provide strategic and operational contributions towards managing, responding to, and resolving tax authority audits or risk reviews.
* Strengthen the design and operating effectiveness of tax internal controls through continuous improvement initiatives.
* Contributing to month end processes, particularly determination of tax accruals and other relevant tax calculations.
What you need to apply
* CA or CPA qualified
* 5 years' experience at either a professional services firm or large corporate
* Strong attention to detail
* Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
* Digital and data analytics are big for us, so a personal interest in this area is also an advantage.
* Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities focused on timely delivery and quality results.
* Commercial mindset with a collaborative approach to getting the best outcome aligned to compliance.
* Ability to explain tax issues to non-financial stakeholders.
