The Dementia Together program is growing
From our initial program - Dementia Together Retreats, we've expanded and are offering respite services, group activities and advanced care planning support, and now we're looking for compassionate, reliable Support Workers to join us on a permanent basis.
What's Involved?
Provide dementia-specific respite for clients and their families, including scheduled overnight stays.
Attend and support group respite activities and Dementia Together retreats (overnight attendance may be required).
Offer meaningful engagement, emotional support, and practical assistance to clients living with dementia.
Travel within the diocese as needed to support clients in different locations.
Maintain clear and accurate progress notes, incident reports, and risk documentation.
We're looking for people who:
Understand the unique needs of people living with dementia.
Are caring, patient, and great at observing what works well for clients.
Can provide dementia-specific respite, including rostered overnight stays.
Are willing to travel within the diocese to support clients from time to time.
Can attend group respite activities and Dementia Together retreats (overnight stays may be required).
Maintain accurate progress notes and incident/risk reporting.
To join our team, you'll need the following:
CHCAGE011 – Provide Support to People Living with Dementia (or relevant updated qualification), or willingness to obtain.
Certificate III in Individual Support or willingness to obtain.
Assist Clients with Medication competency or willingness to obtain.
Be available for overnight support on a semi-regular basis.
