The Opportunity
As an Instructional and Usability Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping high-quality digital learning experiences that enhance academic skills and student success. Working within the Library, you will apply evidence-based instructional design and usability principles to ensure resources are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to diverse learner needs.
You will collaborate across teams to develop scalable, visually engaging content using emerging technologies and systematic design frameworks. Your expertise will help integrate usability testing and continuous improvement processes, ensuring library learning materials meet the highest standards of clarity and effectiveness.
This role also involves supporting library staff through training and guidance on best practices in instructional design and usability, fostering innovation and consistency across all digital learning resources.
What Success Looks Like:
* Apply systematic learning design frameworks to create student-centred online content.
* Design inclusive, accessible resources using established and emerging technologies.
* Integrate usability testing and feedback to continuously improve learning experiences.
* Provide expert instructional design advice and training to library staff.
* Collaborate to maintain quality and pedagogical integrity across all resources.

About You
* Degree with relevant experience in instructional design and usability testing.
* Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Suite, H5P, Articulate, Camtasia, and HTML/XML.
* Understanding of learning management systems and data-driven improvements.
* Ability to apply learning design theories to create engaging, interactive content.
* Strong collaboration skills with diverse stakeholders across teams.
