This dynamic team are dedicated to providing specialist mental health services for young people aged 15 to 25. They focus on early intervention for severe and complex mental illnesses, working closely with the National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health, to ensure comprehensive care.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager. the Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) plays a crucial role in improving the mental health outcomes of young people in custody. You'll deliver evidence-based specialist assessment and treatment interventions, ensuring holistic care and supporting reintegration into the community. Your responsibilities will include risk assessments, crisis intervention, case management, and collaborative work with multidisciplinary teams.
THE ESSENTIALS
* Registration as a Nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent.
* Minimum of 12-24 months experience in an acute or sub-acute inpatient setting.
* Demonstrated commitment to the recovery approach in mental health treatment and support.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
* Current Victorian driver's license and Working with Children check.
