Your role with us

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to work in theAutism and Intellectual disability specialism which supportsadults with neurodevelopmental disorders and complex mental health and forensic care needs. The pathway has a well-established psycho social treatment programme including ASD and LD specific treatments, offence focused therapy, a DBT service neurodevelopmental disorder assessment clinic.

The psychology team plays a key role in service delivery and development, with research being a key activity with academic publications and presentations at national and international conferences.


Your profile

The successful applicants will join a large psychology team. Duties are varied andwill assist Qualified Psychologists in psychological and behavioural assessments of patient needs, offering group and individual therapy sessions based on CBT and psycho educational models, maintaining research databases, carrying out clinical audits, delivering staff training.

Applicants should have a minimum of an upper second class honours degree in psychology and be eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society.

Applicants should be very competent in computer skills, research methods, have high levels of literacy and numeracy, and have great interpersonal and communication skills. Previous experience working within a multidisciplinary team and an interest and/or experience of working with adults with autism, intellectual disability or offenders is advantageous, but not essential.
