As a Ranger – General Duties, you’ll uphold Council regulations, provide exceptional customer service, and support the community through activities such as animal and stock control, parking enforcement, environmental protection, and public education. You’ll be part of a supportive, high-performing team dedicated to making a positive impact across the region.

Role and Location

Position: Ranger – General Duties (Permanent, full-time). 35 hours per week on a 7 day rotating roster. Base Salary Range: $69,600 - $81,716 pa based on 35 hours/week + 12% superannuation + $2,464 retention allowance. Work location: PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace.

Responsibilities

- Deliver expert advice and support on Council’s Smart Parking System and broader parking matters to internal teams, stakeholders, and the community.
- Conduct proactive patrols and parking enforcement, including school zones and disability parking, while promoting community education and compliance.
- Investigate complaints and customer requests, applying sound judgement in line with Council policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Support a range of ranger duties including waste investigations, animal control, and environmental protection, with availability for weekend and public holiday shifts.

Qualifications

- Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Control) or equivalent.
- Current C Class Driver’s licence (Essential).
- Understanding of application of relevant legislation (Road Rules 2014, Local Government Act 1993, Roads Act 1993 and Public Spaces (Unattended Property) Act 2021).

Other Requirements

- Availability for weekend and public holiday shifts as part of the ranger duties.
