Neko Geelong is a cat-themed Japanese and Asian fusion café located in central Geelong. We are known for fresh ingredients, well-balanced flavours, and a welcoming café environment inspired by Japanese culture and our love of cats.
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cook / Chef to join our kitchen team on a casual or part-time basis. This role suits someone who values consistency, professionalism, and teamwork in a fast-paced café kitchen.
Trading Hours (No Late Nights):
* Monday – Friday: 7:00am – 3:00pm
* Saturday: 9:00am – 2:00pm
* Sunday: Closed
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, cook, and present Japanese and Asian fusion café dishes
* Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation
* Assist with daily kitchen prep and service
* Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen
* Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards
* Assist with stock control, ordering, and stock rotation
* Minimise food waste and maintain portion control
* Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team
About You:
* Previous experience as a cook or chef in a commercial kitchen
* Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene
* Punctuality and reliability are essential
* Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment
* Strong attention to detail and consistency
* Positive, team-focused attitude
* Availability to work within our trading hours, including Saturdays
* Experience with Japanese or Asian cuisine is an advantage
* Cat lovers are an advantage
