Job Description
Fortescue is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technical Officer to join their team in Port Hedland. This role plays a key part in driving proactive maintenance strategies, project scoping, and execution of improvement initiatives across the plant.
The successful candidate will apply advanced fault-finding and diagnostic skills to support the performance and reliability of critical infrastructure, including stackers, reclaimers, conveyors, pumps, chutes, train unloaders, etc.
They will also be responsible for conducting breakdown support, root cause analysis, and fault-finding, as well as performing and supporting preventative and predictive maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Raising notifications and work orders within the maintenance management system
2. Conducting breakdown support, root cause analysis, and fault-finding on fixed plant equipment
3. Performing and supporting preventative and predictive maintenance tasks
4. Scoping, planning, and executing mechanical upgrades and small-to-medium capital projects
5. Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities to enhance asset reliability and plant availability
6. Supporting reliability initiatives including defect elimination and reliability reporting
Qualifications and Experience
* Australian-recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification
* A strong personal commitment to safety and risk management
* Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and system diagnostics
* Previous experience in fixed plant maintenance within the mining or heavy industry sector
* Current C-Class Driver's License
* Working knowledge of maintenance management systems, e.g., SAP
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment
