About this role: We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Museum Program Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to visitors, ensuring an engaging and informative experience while maintaining the museum site and collection.

Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver outstanding customer service to ensure all visitors have a welcoming and engaging experience.
* Respond to inquiries, feedback, and concerns from visitors in a professional manner, escalating as required.
* Assist in developing tours and educational programs to enhance visitor engagement.
* Oversee daily operations, ensuring exhibits are well-maintained and public spaces are clean and safe.
* Promptly report any issues with exhibits.
* Manage cash handling, ticketing systems, and point-of-sale operations in line with Council policy.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to support the development and presentation of exhibitions that reflect the cultural and historical significance of the region.
* Promote the museums' programs and services in consultation with Council's communications team.
* Assist with planning and delivery of events, workshops, and cultural initiatives.
* Ensure emergency procedures are understood and followed and assist with emergency drills and incident reporting.
* Monitor and report maintenance issues to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for visitors.
* Work collaboratively and communicate respectfully with colleagues.
* Ensure compliance with work health and safety requirements, comply with workplace procedures, and participate in activities related to work health and safety.
* Ensure compliance with Council policies and procedures.
* Other reasonable duties at level as advised by the Coordinator Community Relations.

Organisational Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements. Comply with workplace procedures for risk identification, risk assessment, and risk control. Participate in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety.
* To be responsible for ensuring own safety and health and that of other people in the workplace.
* Develop and assist in the implementation of the Katherine Town Council's Local Counter Disaster Sub-Plan in the event of a disaster;
* Ensure incumbent is dedicated to servicing our community and will listen to and proactively respond to their needs;
* Foster sustainable, honest relationships with the community and stakeholders
* Perform and deliver results that align with organisations strategic direction and serve our community;
* Work in accordance with Council's Vision and Mission statement.
