Job Opportunity:
A hydrographic surveyor plays a crucial role in supporting marine research programs, combining expertise with hands-on fieldwork.
Main Responsibilities:
* Carrying out hydrographic and geophysical surveys using advanced instruments.
* Maintaining and enhancing survey equipment, systems, and workflows for optimal performance.
* Processing and interpreting bathymetric and geophysical data to produce accurate mapping products.
* Supporting sea-based operations (up to 85 days per year) including voyage preparation, equipment setup, and data management.
* Providing technical guidance, mentorship, and collaboration within interdisciplinary research teams.
* Preparing comprehensive reports and presentations that effectively communicate survey results and data quality.
Essential Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Science or a related field with proven experience in hydrographic or marine geophysical surveying.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, managing complex datasets and equipment systems.
* Clear communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration across diverse teams.
* Practical approach with a focus on delivering solutions, leveraging technical expertise to drive results.
* Ability to travel and undertake extended sea-based operations.
