Overview
City Of Monash is seeking an
Events Cultural Development Officer
to join the Arts and Libraries Branch. The branch encompasses Festivals and Events, Creative Industries, the Museum of Australian Photography, and the Monash Public Library Service. This role designs and delivers events and programs that promote social connection, participation, health and wellbeing, and reflect the cultural vitality of the Monash community.
Responsibilities
Deliver events, festivals and cultural programs to support and enhance the cultural life of the Monash community.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, program partners and networks to ensure successful event outcomes.
Design and deliver events and programs that promote social connection, participation, health and wellbeing.
Work with a multidisciplinary team to plan and execute events within a safe, compliant framework.
Key Selection Criteria
Experience in creating events and activities through a community cultural development approach.
Extensive experience in the design, development and delivery of outdoor community events in a safe, compliant event and risk management framework, preferably within a local government context.
Proven ability to work with a multidisciplinary team including internal and external stakeholders, program partners and networks.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively within a team environment, including high level oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work calmly under pressure and within tight deadlines.
Ability to develop, manage project budgets and understanding of local government procurement processes and contract management.
