The Role
The Manager Structure Planning is a key leadership and management role within the Division and is an innovative, senior professional, providing strategic leadership, direction and management to a professional team within the Planning and Building Directorate.
This is your opportunity to shape South Australia's future communities and the development of Greater Adelaide for decades. The role's primary focus is to deliver structure plans for the state's greenfield growth areas, employment lands and state significant infill areas to ensure infrastructure network solutions are integrated with land use planning. You will hold the following responsibilities:
• Provide expert input into the development of professional standards, objectives and priorities of assigned programs, projects, assets, systems and/or services that deliver DHUD's objectives, including the implementation of change initiatives.
• Plan and manage complex projects where required, including determining and allocating resources and work priorities and motivating staff to ensure standards and efficiencies are met.
• Provide high quality advice to Ministers, Executive, the State Planning Commission, other government agencies and external stakeholders about land use and infrastructure planning.
• Formulate policies and practices that influence the direction on key corporate issues, position the organisation to meet future challenges and enable the achievement of the Section's goals and objectives.
About You
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:
• Experience managing multi‐disciplinary teams including contractors and consultant teams.
• Experience working on a broad range of urban planning projects involving infrastructure planning, environmental matters, urban economics, land use planning and urban design.
• Knowledge and experience to interpret and apply legislative provisions and complex systems.
• Experience working in a planning related role that involves policy development, strategic planning and/or development assessment.
• A recognised degree or post‐graduate qualification that supports the relevant discipline of planning and development.
• Eligible for Accreditation as "Accredited Professional – planning level 1" under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016.
Special Conditions
Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 2 years.
Remuneration
MAS3 $127,859 per annum + 12% Superannuation.
