**About the position**:
Coolum Beach Dental is currently looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team on a casual basis with the potential view to go part time in early 2025.
Come and join our supportive and dynamic team in our modern 5 chair practice. Our Dentists and team are patient focused to ensure the highest quality treatments and patient centered care are provided every time. We offer a wide variety of treatments from general check ups to Implants.
As a Dental Assistant, you will report to the practice manager and work with the dental team, where you will be exposed to more learning opportunities to enhance your professional abilities.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Patient Care**: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.
**Clinical Support**: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organized treatment area.
**Inventory Management**: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.
**Patient Education**: Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.
**Team Collaboration**: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
**Compliance**: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.

**What do you need to succeed**:
- Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential
- A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Capability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy
- Attention to detail
