ABOUT THE BUSINESS:
Temptation Sailing is a well-established marine tourism operator based at Holdfast Shores Marina in Glenelg, South Australia. We operate Temptation, a 58ft x 32ft aluminium sailing catamaran purpose-built as a passenger charter vessel and surveyed to carry up to 50 passengers.
Operating seasonally from September through to May, our experiences include wild dolphin swim and watch tours, public coastal and sunset cruises, and private charters. All cruises depart from Glenelg, with a licensed bar onboard serving a range of beverages throughout each voyage.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We have a rare opportunity for an experienced, full-time Skipper to join Temptation Sailing as an Acting Skipper and Eco-Tour Guide.
Candidates must demonstrate 3-5 years of commercial vessel experience to be considered for this position.
We are a seasonal operation running from September through to May, with our peak period from December to February. During the operating season, you will work across a 7-day roster, with extended hours required during peak months.
Outside of the cruising season, you will assist with vessel maintenance, refit works, and preparation to ensure Temptation is ready for the following season. This role suits a hands-on skipper who enjoys both operating a commercial vessel and contributing to its ongoing care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage the daily operating of the vessel and management of cruises as acting skipper
* Ensure the safety of crew and passengers
* Assist with regular maintenance of the vessel
* Provide exceptional customer service on our tours and ensuring the safety of the passengers and crew
* Inform and educate our passengers on the wildlife seen during our tours (training provided)
ABOUT YOU:
You're passionate about the marine environment and confident sharing your knowledge with guests in an engaging and approachable way. You bring strong communication, organisation and decision-making skills, and remain calm and decisive under pressure.
Reliable and self-motivated, you manage your time well, think ahead, and keep operations running smoothly in a dynamic on-water environment. You're comfortable leading a team, making clear calls when it matters, and setting a positive, professional tone on board.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Master less than 24 meters near coastal
* Marine Engine Driver Grade 3
* LROCP Radio
* Current drivers license
* Current CPR and First Aid
* Responsible Service of Alcohol
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Background in Marine Biology or relevant degree
* Previous skippering experience, ideally on tourism vessels
* 1-2+ years previous customer service
* Ability to perform basic engine maintenance and troubleshooting
