We are excited to offer this opportunity for passionate, caring, and committed midwifery students to join our team at Maitland Maternity. Our successful candidates will work with women, families and midwives in a supportive role as an Assistant in Midwifery. On any given day, you will be providing postnatal care, including breastfeeding support, observations, and attending to postnatal care plans. You will also provide assistance in the birth unit with restocking, data entry into eMaternity, and assisting with caesarean section preparation. This role offers clinical support available from the education, management and midwifery team. You will be working collaboratively within the team to support women and newborns and promote safety and quality in the workplace.

Requirements
1. Enrolled in the Bachelor of Midwifery program at the University of Newcastle in second year, first semester or third year.
2. Currently enrolled or has successfully completed Midwifery Practice & Woman with Complex Care Needs A-MIDI 2105.
