Bunbury Fibre Exports Pty Ltd (BFE) is a leading Australian processor and supplier of plantation woodchip into the international Pulp and Paper Industry. BFE is based at Berth 8 within the Port of Bunbury.
About the Role
Working closely with the leadership team, you will be responsible for the financial accounting elements of the business including the General Ledger, Financial Reports, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Fixed assets.
The role prepares profit and loss statements, balance sheet reporting and cash flow statements. Responsibilities also include statutory reporting and tax compliance. You will be instrumental in driving change and steering the way forward to find solutions, instil accountability, and improve efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with business development by analysing potential projects, risks, tax implications
* Maintain/manage the accounting system (SAP B1), including data integrity and process improvements
* Small volume of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing, including payment preparation
* Prepare monthly management and financial reports, including reconciliations
* Maintain fixed asset schedules and reconcile additions and disposals
* Prepare and lodge BAS and Payroll Tax
* Manage end‑to‑end payroll and leave accrual reconciliations
* Monitor bank accounts and prepare monthly cashflow projections
* Analyse performance trends and provide insights to management
* Prepare statutory financial accounts and manage external audit
* Prepare company tax returns and respond to auditor queries
* Complete FBT returns and maintain required documentation
* Prepare annual budgets
* Perform company secretarial duties and ensure compliance with ASIC and ATO obligations
* Manage the annual insurance renewal process
* Provide general administrative support as needed
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
· A degree in Commerce or Business with an Accounting major
· Advanced Excel skills, including modelling and data analysis
· SAP and/or MYOB experience (desirable but not essential)
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and solve problems
· High attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
· A current driver's licence
· A current National Police Clearance
· Ability to obtain an MSIC or PAC
· Ability to pass a pre employment medical
