We are partnering with Design Process, a specialist engineering firm delivering tailored solutions across mineral processing, mining infrastructure and heavy industry. With strong demand across complex plant environments and ongoing capital programs, the business is expanding and now seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to enhance its technical leadership capability.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will take ownership of the mechanical and piping discipline across a portfolio of technically challenging, concurrent projects. This role is suited to a senior engineer who values accountability, technical leadership, and the opportunity to shape discipline standards while building capability within a growing team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead mechanical and piping engineering delivery across multiple projects.
* Provide technical governance for multidisciplinary engineering teams – Review and approve mechanical designs, plant layouts and associated deliverables.
* Oversee engineering schedules, budgets and performance reporting – Develop discipline standards, documentation and engineering processes.
* Coordinate design packages and lead technical assessments – Mentor engineers and contribute to team capability growth
About you
* Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering – Chartered status (CPEng / RPEQ) or ability to obtain.
* Strong background in mineral processing or heavy industrial environments.
* Expertise in mechanical design, plant systems and layout development.
* Experience leading engineering teams and coordinating multi‐discipline delivery.
* Effective communicator with strong organisational and analytical capability.
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
