Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapist will be responsible and accountable to the Acute MH Inpatient Unit Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and will work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team. Under this role the successful candidate will have access to supervision from the Allied Health Manager and the Senior Occupational Therapist within the wider Mental Health Inpatient Units Allied Health Team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high‑quality recovery services to consumers in accordance with the ethics and standards established by AHPRA for Occupational Therapists
- Providing professional recovery‑oriented services to consumers and families/carers through interventions such as psychosocial assessment, identification of goals, motivational interviewing, guidance and support to achieve goals, provision of information, referral and advocacy, and group program design, implementation, facilitation and evaluation
- Actively involved in the development and provision of a broad range of structured activities and rehabilitation programs
- Conducting occupational therapy assessment and intervention
Qualifications & Requirements
- Recognised degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- NSW Working with Children Check
