Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Town Planner. The position is based in Surry Hills, NSW, with opportunities to work remotely when needed. The Town Planner will be responsible for assessing development applications, providing strategic planning advice, conducting site inspections, preparing planning reports, and liaising with clients, stakeholders, and local councils. The role requires ensuring projects comply with local and regional planning policies and contributing to the successful delivery of development solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Report Writing: Prepare detailed and compelling Statements of Environmental Effects (SEE) and other planning-related reports to support development applications.
* Software Collaboration: Collaborate with the software development team to provide input on improving our in-house tech platform, ensuring it aligns with the needs of town planners and delivers high-quality outputs for clients.
* Client Consultation: Work with clients to understand their project requirements, providing expert advice on planning strategies that align with local regulations and our service offerings.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure that all reports and documentation are accurate, well-structured, and meet regulatory requirements.
* Continuous Improvement: Contribute to refining and enhancing report templates and software functionality based on project outcomes and feedback.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
* Demonstrated experience in town planning, particularly in preparing Statements of Environmental Effects or similar reports.
* Strong writing and analytical skills, with a focus on producing high-quality, compliant reports.
* Tech-savvy and eager to contribute to the development of planning software.
* Ability to work independently, with strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Excellent communication skills for liaising with both clients and internal teams.
