Job Description
The role
We have a wonderful rare opportunity to join our Kitchen Brigade as a casual Commis Chef, you'll be responsible for assisting in the effective operation of the Kitchen and working in a team to provide quality and a high level of service to guests while adhering to Kitchen policies and procedures.

What you'll be doing:
* Food production in accordance with requirements whilst ensuring correct methods of cooking, consistency in product and quality
* Ensure the overall cleanliness and the health and safety & adhere to strcit food safety guidelines, follow GIA procedures for food waste.
* Responsible for proper storage, labelling and use of all food supplies to prevent unnecessary spoilage and to maintain cost control
* Assist in the supervision of junior kitchen staff by providing instruction of duties
* Be a positive team member with a "Can Do" attitude
Qualifications
What we're looking for:
* Commercial Cookery Qualification – Cert III or IV
* An experienced Chef with a creative flair and able to work across a la carte dining and functions and events
* Have previous experience working on pans and grill
* Sound knowledge of the latest trends in the industry
* Familiar with Food Safety and WHS legislation
* A passion for locally sourced and seasonal produce
* Proven ability to work in a high pressure and fast-paced environment
* Creative, eye for Detail and a Flair for Presentation
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* A desire to develop among a driven & professional team
* Ability to work autonomously on a section or within a fast-paced team
* Availability to work a flexible roster, including nights, week-ends and public holidays.
* Hold valid full working rights in Australia to be able to work a full-time roster (sorry no sponsorship available).
