Aboriginal Youth Justice Caseworker – Batemans Bay Youth Justice Community Office

Clerk Grade 6/7
Salary: $107,131 – $116,969 per annum plus employer superannuation contribution and annual leave loading
This position is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only.
Role
This role is committed to improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. You will provide front-line services to young people at the Batemans Bay Youth Justice Community Office, including detainees, youth justice conferencing clients, victims of crime, and court-mandated young people and their families. You will work within a multi-disciplined team to reduce re-offending, enhance functioning, and support reintegration.
What You'll Do
Develop and maintain relationships with the Aboriginal community and key stakeholders to deliver services to young people.
Undertake case-management activities targeting need and risk, including case planning, organising and facilitating case conferences, and delivering offence-focused intervention programmes.
Collaborate with Youth Justice staff and external partners to connect young people to appropriate services and monitor progress.
Work closely with courts, parole authorities, review panels and legal professionals and provide clear written communication for internal and external stakeholders.
Use structured screening and assessment tools to identify risks and determine appropriate interventions, including family and crisis support.
Monitor outcome and case plans for compliance and progress, taking appropriate actions.
Maintain accurate records and data integrity in information systems to support case management and quality assurance.
Provide young people and families with tools, information and support to create positive change.
Contribute to the therapeutic nature of services, including behaviour management and reflective practice with staff.
Adapt to change and comply with departmental policies, procedures, standards and best-practice guidelines.
What We're Looking For
Relevant tertiary qualifications (diploma or higher) in social work, welfare, psychology, criminology, education or a related field, or equivalent experience.
NSW Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act ****.
Current driver's licence.
