Job Description
About The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre
We provide specialist sexual assault and family violence programs and services, including 24 hour crisis care support, case management, therapeutic counselling, early intervention and professional education and training.
About The Orange Door
The Orange Door delivers a fundamental change to the way we work with women, children and families, and men. The role of The Orange Door is to provide:
1. a more visible contact point so that people know where to go for specialist support
2. help for people to identify family violence and child and family safety and wellbeing issues
3. advice based on contemporary risk assessment tools and guidance and best available information
4. specialist support and tailored advice for victims, families and children, and perpetrators
5. a strong focus on perpetrator accountability
6. connection and coordination of access to support
7. an approach across the spectrum of prevention, early intervention and response
8. a system-wide view of service capacity, client experience and outcomes.
The Orange Door supports the agency of women, children and families, to ensure that the services they receive meet their needs and their goals. The Orange Door also focuses on people who use family violence and to keep them in view, and plays a role in holding them accountable for their action and changing their behaviour.
About The Role
The Specialist Family Violence Practitioner will work within the multi-disciplinary Orange Door team and deliver high quality, safe and effective service responses to Victorians seeking support and services through The Orange Door.

Desired Skills and Experience
About You
With degree qualifications in social work, welfare, psychology, or a related discipline.

The successful candidate will be required to maintain a current Working With Children's check and National Police Check at their own expense.
