Our centre is passionate about educating children to make healthy choices and eat nutritious meals. We are looking for a Cook who can play an active part in creating healthy menus.
The Role
We offer a 35 hour week and the opportunity to be part of a fun loving team. This role enables you to work with a national network of centre cooks who share recipes, ideas and tips. You will also be encouraged to use the Feed Australia program, which enables you to plan, budget and access healthy menus to support children's growth and development.
About You
We are looking for an efficient and capable Cook who can prepare, implement and evaluate the nutritional content of menus for children of all ages. You should have experience in bulk meal preparation, online ordering, stock management and budget control. You must be strict about complying with food safety and hygiene regulations and standards. You should also be able to cater for individual child requirements including allergies, specific dietary requirements and needs.
What You Need
- A current Food Safety and Handlers (Health and Community) Certificate
- A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery / equivalent (desirable)
- Experience in an early childhood setting
- Reliable transport to and from our centre
- A current first aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) and resuscitation certificate
