Senior Finance Manager - Agri & Services
TWH Advisory is delighted to be partnering with our iconic agriculture & specialist services client in regional Victoria to appoint a newly created Senior Finance Manager role. Operating across 16 different sites, the business has 60+ years of heritage and has recently changed their operating structure to report as part of a NASDAQ listed entity in the USA.
Increased scale of the business due to M&A activity, organic growth and ambitious plans for the future have created the need for this role. It is the perfect opportunity for an ambitious agriculturally or automotive minded finance leader to join the business in either the Bendigo or Horsham corporate offices (other VIC regions possible by exception).
Responsibilities
* Managing the financial control function, including general ledger integrity, payables and receivables, reconciliations, company credit cards, weekly P&L, monthly P&L/balance sheet.
* Ensuring timely completion of month-end processes and statutory deadlines associated with Income Tax, BAS, FBT, PAYG and GST.
* Lead role in production, recording and reporting of monthly management accounts.
* Business partnering role to GMs in measuring operating performance and profitability, understanding budgets and financial forecasts and managing cost control.
* Overseeing budgeting, financial forecasting, periodic reporting, and financial modelling.
* Supporting group Payroll function where required.
* Managing a finance team of 5 people by providing clear communication, holding them accountable and delegating effectively.
* Treasury management, in partnership with the Global Treasury team.
* Overseeing all finance systems, ensuring superior systems and processes are in place to deliver a robust finance function.
* Preparing executive reports for the SLT as requested.
* Ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and Sarbanes–Oxley requirements for the Australian operations.
* Working in conjunction with the internal audit team on local design and implementation of appropriate financial controls.
Qualifications
* A Commerce/Accounting degree and be CAANZ/CPA qualified.
* Experience in audit, financial reporting and statutory accounting plus leadership of a transactional accounting team.
* Industry experience within motor dealership, agriculture, U.S. multinational or recognised accounting firms highly regarded.
* Expertise in forecasting and budgeting.
* Strong understanding of risk management and internal controls.
* Knowledge of inventory accounting and retail business systems.
* The highest standards of professionalism, integrity and ethics pursuant to the responsibilities of the position and being a representative of such a recognisable organisation.
* Outstanding interpersonal skills, with an ability to develop and build rapport instantly with people.
* A Victorian driver's licence and the flexibility to travel throughout regional Victoria to maintain strong internal stakeholder relationships.
The successful candidate will excel in a team environment partnering effectively with colleagues in the USA and Australia, industry stakeholders, customers, vendors and communities which the business services. They will also be highly proactive, independent, show good judgement and be capable of executing their role with minimal instruction and supervision.
