MAP Field Officer - Murray Bridge – Full Time position
Murray Bridge based Mobile Assistance Patrol bus service 4pm to Midnight, Monday to Friday.
Aboriginal Sobriety Group (ASG) is seeking to engage casual Mobile Assistance Patrol (MAP) Field Officers to operate the ASG MAP bus service. MAP has been helping the Murray Bridge community for many years, and hope to continue for many more.

Key Responsibilities
- pick up and relocate clients from situations of risk and transport them to places of safety - which include private homes, places which offer appropriate medical care, sobering up facilities and accommodation services
- assist and support clients to access and participate in programs and activities, which are culturally appropriate and contribute to opportunities for them to improve their well-being and reduce substance dependency and maintain mental health
- build partnerships with local services including SAPOL, Crisis Care, Aboriginal Health Services and others to promote the service and to ensure service providers are able to refer clients or contact Map when they are concerned for community members
- Adelaide service runs 4pm to Midnight seven nights a week.
Required Clearances, Licences and Certificates
The following clearances, licences and certificates are required:
* Drivers Licence, Class C (with capacity to drive the MAP buses and vans)
* Provide First Aid
* Working with Children Check required.
The objective of the Mobile Assistance Patrol is to provide transport, support and non – medical detoxification for people affected by alcohol and other drugs and to support them to access a safe place to sober up or recover from the immediate effects of intoxication. The service also refers clients to specialised alcohol and drug services and to health services as needed. While the MAP services primarily assists Aboriginal communities, ASG also offers services to people from other cultural backgrounds affected by alcohol and other drugs and assessed as requiring a safe place to sober up or recover from the immediate effects of intoxication.
