Occupational Therapist

Senior Position Available Now

We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team of dedicated clinicians, all of whom are passionate about empowering clients across the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Hunter regions. This role is ideal for a high-performing, experienced Occupational Therapist who is confident managing complex caseloads and is eager to grow their career at one of the newest and largest rehabilitation clinics in the state.

We will consider full-time applicants or part-time candidates.

Remuneration is very competitive and will be in line with your experience and responsibilities.

We are looking for a therapist who:

* An Occupational Therapist who loves to work with adult clients living with neurological conditions and is committed to making a real difference in their lives.
* Values collaboration within a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals.
* Is proficient in navigating the NDIS, My Aged Care and iCare systems.
* Has demonstrated experience in completing assessments for complex assistive technology, including manual/ power wheelchairs and complex seating.
* Is proficient in completing functional capacity assessments and associated reports for client's transitioning to SIL and/ or SDA.
* Enjoys mentoring and supporting junior colleagues.
* Is interested in flexible work options that promote a healthy work-life balance.
* Wants the opportunity to deliver care both in our purpose-built neuro rehabilitation centre and within the community.

* Can manage an existing diverse caseload of clients funded through NDIS, iCare, My Aged Care, and privately.

* Minimum 4+ years of experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist

Desirable experience would also include:

* Supporting clients with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

* Delivering upper limb therapy.

* Providing cognitive rehabilitation support.

The role:

While we ideally seek a full-time applicant, we are open to negotiating hours for the right candidate.

* Manage a varied OT caseload primarily consisting of adults with neurological and complex physical disabilities.

* Provide assessment and therapy both in-clinic and in the community (home visits, functional assessments, AT prescription, SIL/SDA assessments).

* Deliver patient-centred care, empowering clients to achieve their goals.

* Contribute to the growth and expertise of our OT department by supporting team development and innovation.

Minimum requirements for working at Levaro:

* Demonstrated experience working with adults with neurological conditions (highly desirable)
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy recognised by AHPRA and current AHPRA registration (without restrictions)
* A commitment to a client-centered approach.
* Excellent collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to work in partnership.
* A commitment to the inclusion and participation of people with disabilities in their local and natural communities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A commitment to ongoing learning and development of new skills and capabilities.
* A commitment to evidence-based practice.
* Understanding of the rights of people with disabilities.
* Experience with NDIS processes, assessments, and reporting requirements (highly desirable)
* Confidence to work independently and collaborate within a team.
* A current driver's license and willingness to travel as required for the role.
* A current national police check
