About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Events and Famils Lead to play a key role within our high-performing Business Events team, delivering high-impact trade events, famil programs and in-destination business events that elevate the Gold Coast’s reputation as a premier business events destination.
You will drive initiatives such as This is Gold Coast Business Exchange (TIGC), Gold Coast Connect and AIME, while managing confirmed events to ensure seamless client journeys and exceptional customer experiences. Working collaboratively with internal teams and industry partners, you’ll help strengthen relationships, leverage opportunities and deliver meaningful destination outcomes. This role requires some evening, weekend, and/or public holiday work as well as national travel.
What You’ll Do:
* Coordinate and deliver trade shows, famils, site inspections and co-operative events from planning through to post-event review.
* Manage confirmed business events, providing ongoing client support and handling referrals and service requests.
* Oversee event logistics including travel, accommodation, itineraries, procurement, budgeting and vendor management.
* Maintain accurate records in CRM systems (including Simpleview) and manage event delivery through EventsAIR.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance destination marketing assets, communications and overall customer experience.
* Contribute to reporting, budgeting processes and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
What You’ll Bring:
* 5–7 years’ experience coordinating events, trade exhibitions and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Tourism, Event Management or a related discipline preferred.
* Experience in account management and delivering high-quality client servicing.
* Strong knowledge of the business events distribution system and demonstrated financial acumen.
* Proven project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
* High-level interpersonal and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Experience with CRM systems and event management software (EventsAIR highly regarded).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
