About the Role
St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our Food Services team. The Cook plays a vital role in supporting the efficient and high-quality operation of the College's Food Services department, assisting with preparation and cooking of meals and supporting catering tasks safely and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and to quality standards.
* Support the Chef and Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations.
* Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety and proper storage.
* Be aware of food allergies and special dietary requirements.
* Maintain a positive attitude and a strong commitment to providing healthy and appealing menu options.
* Demonstratestrong communicationskills to effectively liaise with colleagues and subordinate staff, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
What You Bring
* A relevant tertiary qualification in Food Safety Supervision or a related discipline, and/or at least 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen.
* Comprehensive knowledge of food hygiene legislation, food safetystandardsand allergen management.
* Experience in a similar role, with knowledge of an education, boarding or institutional setting.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
* Commitment to the College's Christian ethos and values.
