Senior Legal Counsel Role
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Legal Counsel with expertise in disputes and litigation to join our dynamic APAC Legal team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Legal to tackle complex commercial challenges that impact millions of traders globally.
You will be responsible for developing legal strategies, mentoring junior lawyers, and working with senior executives across the region. This position requires strong technical experience in commercial litigation, including aspects of the Corporations Act, ASIC Act, and Privacy Laws.
The key responsibilities include:
* Managing and advising on key disputes and litigation matters, including running point on such cases.
* Providing timely and effective advice and support to the APAC Disputes Team.
* Communicating complex legal issues in verbal and written reports in plain English.
* Managing external legal service providers to ensure value and appropriate legal support.
* Supporting the Head of Legal and the wider APAC Senior Management team in delivering regional objectives.
The ideal candidate has at least 4 years' commercial litigation experience, an Australian practicing solicitor with 9-10 years' post-qualification experience, and unrestricted work rights in Australia.
