Machine Learning Researcher
The University of Wollongong, Australia is seeking highly motivated and skilled researchers to contribute to the development of statistical machine learning methods with applications to metocean and ocean engineering.
The research will focus on three key areas:
* Efficient Data Acquisition: We aim to develop novel sequential decision making strategies for optimal design in data acquisition.
* Spatio-Temporal Inference and Prediction: Our goal is to create advanced data-driven models for predicting complex ocean dynamic processes.
* Statistical Analysis and Emulation: We seek to advance statistical analysis, emulation, and uncertainty quantification of physical models.
A generous scholarship will support students pursuing a PhD in statistics or a related field for up to 3 years.
To be eligible, applicants should hold an Honours undergraduate degree or a Masters degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, or a closely related field. A strong background in programming languages such as Python or R is essential.
