SGME is seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead and deliver complex environmental projects across the mining, infrastructure, and land development sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of end-to-end project management while working closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and environmental specialists.
In this role, you will scope, plan, and execute environmental projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high technical standard. Your work will include risk assessments, compliance monitoring, stakeholder engagement, resource management, and the preparation of technical and regulatory documentation. You will oversee cross‑functional project teams, coordinate field and technical activities, and evaluate outcomes to support sustainable, long‑term environmental performance.
At SGME, you'll contribute to practical, science‑based solutions while expanding your expertise in areas such as mine rehabilitation, geochemistry, soil science, environmental planning, and land management—all within a supportive and collaborative environment.
About You
You're an organised and proactive professional with strong project management experience and relevant qualifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Diploma of Project Management, or similar). You enjoy leading projects from initiation through to delivery and thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. With well‑developed skills in planning, coordination, communication, and problem‑solving, you're confident managing timelines, resources, budgets, and stakeholders. You take a structured approach to your work, communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats, and are committed to delivering high‑quality outcomes.
You engage confidently with clients, regulators, and community stakeholders, and you excel at balancing project, regulatory, and organisational requirements. Your leadership, attention to detail, and sound judgement enable you to guide cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
We are a boutique consulting firm supporting clients across the mining and minerals sector. Our team of scientists, engineers, and professional experts work closely with clients to deliver high‑quality projects within a structured consulting framework. We are known for applying innovative thinking to complex challenges across the full mine life cycle.
Our consulting services span four key markets: feasibility and mine planning, mine operations, mine and quarry closure, and rehabilitation, monitoring, and research.
