About The Role
(Internally known as Material & Logistics Leading Hand)
Due to continued growth, Contract Resources (CR) is seeking an experienced and hands-on Material & Logistics Leading Hand to join our Warehouse & Yard team on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Materials & Logistics Supervisor, this role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse and yard operations, supporting and leading equipment and asset mobilisation, providing guidance and a high quality service to internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and equipment critical to the success of CR and our clients' specialised projects. This is a practical, operational role requiring strong leadership, organisation, and a solid understanding of logistics processes within the Industrial Services sector.
Duties
* Supporting, leading and motivating the materials and logistics team to meet daily operational targets
* Coordinating inbound and outbound freight, transport scheduling, and dispatch activities
* Monitoring workload, allocating resources, and managing priorities to meet operational deadlines
* Ensuring compliance with WHS, quality, and company procedures at all times
* Maintaining accurate inventory, materials, and transport records across all systems
* Liaising with internal stakeholders, workshop teams, drivers, and external service providers
* Supporting mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment and materials
* Assisting with stock control, inventory management, and equipment movements
* Preparing and maintaining logistics, compliance, and reporting documentation
* Identifying inefficiencies and driving continuous improvement initiatives
* Supporting onboarding, training, and performance management of team members
* Leading by example and promoting a strong safety-first culture
Requirements & Experience
* 3+ years of experience in a Leading Hand, Coordinator or Supervisory role within logistics, warehouse, or materials operations
* Background in Oil & Gas, Industrial, or similar industries (desirable)
* Strong understanding of warehouse operations, transport logistics, and inventory control
* Demonstrated experience supporting & managing teams in a fast-paced operational environment
* High level of organisational and time management skills
* Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
* Safety-focused mindset with experience enforcing WHS standards
* Competent with logistics systems, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools
* Ability to work autonomously while supporting broader operational objectives
* Full Australian work rights
* Current Manual Drivers Licence (Essential)
* Valid High Risk Work Licence - Forklift (Essential)
* Construction White Card
