One of our largest clients is now seeking an EL1 Assistant Director Research and Evaluation to join there fast-growing team of talented individuals offering an attractive pay in Deakin.
**About the role**
As a member of the Strategic Evaluation team, the primary function of the Assistant Director Strategic Evaluation will be to support the Director of Strategic Evaluation to manage and deliver evaluations of strategic projects implemented by the agency. Other functions will include helping to embed rigorous evaluation across the agency business units develop theory of change, logic models and evaluation frameworks; providing expert advice to the agency business units undertaking evaluation; and supervising staff as required.
**Duties**
- Managing and delivering strategic evaluations.
- Leading the development of logic models and monitoring and evaluation frameworks for other agency programs, policies and services.
- Supervising Senior Research and Evaluation Officer(s) and other staff to collect, analyse and report quantitative and qualitative data.
- Enhancing the Scheme's use of evidence-informed practice in delivering outcomes for participants, carers and family members.
- Shaping and maintaining the NDIA's relationships and partnerships with external research bodies, including specialist agencies and relevant academic and technical experts, to ensure that the wider disability research community is effectively engaged to deliver benefits for the Scheme and people with disability across Australia.
- Building the agency approach to innovation in delivering practice improvements and contemporary services and supports, to improve outcomes for participants (people with disabilities, their carers and families).
**Examples of activities to be led and/or delivered include**
- Developing and implementing theory of change/program logic models, monitoring and evaluation frameworks and project plans.
- Quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, in accordance with standard operating procedures, agency standards and ethics requirements.
- Preparing and implementing surveys, focus groups and interviews.
- Preparing and presenting high-quality evaluation reports, journal articles and conference presentations.
- Maintaining a risk register for evaluation projects, including identifying and implementing risk mitigation strategies in conjunction with the Director of Evaluation.
- Providing technical expertise and advice on evaluation design and delivery including quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Corresponding with internal and external stakeholders.
**Desired Experience**
- Knowledge and experience in evaluation of programs and services
- Analysing and reporting on qualitative and quantitative data
- Project management skills and experience
- Stakeholder engagement and management experience.
- An interest and/or experience working within the disability sector
- Post graduate research qualification
