We are currently seeking a motivated Cadet Fire Designer to join our team and start their journey toward becoming a qualified fire systems designer.

The role:
As a Cadet Fire Designer, you'll work closely with our experienced design team to assist in producing high-quality fire protection system designs for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. This is a hands-on training opportunity designed for individuals looking to build a long-term career in fire engineering. You will also be given the opportunity to further improve your skills and knowledge with learning and development courses external to our business.
Key responsibilities:
· Assist in preparing fire sprinkler and detection system designs using CAD software (AutoCAD / Revit / other industry tools).
· Interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings.
· Support in developing hydraulic calculations and system layouts.
· Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
· Liaise with internal teams and external consultants as required.
· Participate in training sessions and ongoing professional development.
What We’re Looking For:
· Recent school leaver or student pursuing a qualification in engineering, drafting, building services, or a related field.
· Interest in fire safety and building design.
· Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software (training provided).
· Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
· Good communication and teamwork skills.
* A good level of spoken and written English.
* Permanent residency or Australian citizenship.
