Dunbier and Mackay Boat Trailers are Australia’s largest boat trailer manufacturer and a family-owned business that has been operating for over 56 years. With facilities in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth, we manufacture the Dunbier and Mackay range of boat trailers and distribute a large range of marine/trailer accessories to over 400 customers across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with plenty of energy and team spirit to join the team in a key position as Operations Manager in our Queensland Ormeau branch. This distribution centre services Queensland, Northern NSW and the NT in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
This is a challenging and rewarding role where you will join a small team tasked with operating our most successful branch, driving sales and distribution through our dealer/manufacturer network, and maintaining the high standards we are known for.
Key Objectives
- Managing the Operations of our Facility including Inventory, OHS, and facility maintenance.
- Daily Management of onsite staff in the absence of the Branch Manager.
- Maintaining close communication with our dealer base, updating information and schedules.
- Managing consumer and dealer enquiries, including admin and spare parts support.
Key Tasks – Operations
- Overseeing branch operations including opening and closing.
- Coordinate delivery schedules and deliver boats/trailers as required.
- Ensure productivity and safety procedures are followed.
- Consult with team members to align factory priorities with customer demand.
- Work with Head Office to maintain consistency with company expectations.
- Stock control of trailers, consumables, and accessories.
- Assist in order processing, freight, unloading containers/boats, and stock takes.
- Assist with trailer fit-ups, presets, and general warehouse duties.
- Oversee dispatch operations and manage staff day sheets.
- Monitor safety systems and site cleanliness.
Key Tasks – Sales
- Maintain regular contact with top 20 customers.
- Work alongside the State Manager to achieve sales budgets and targets.
- Ensure customer trailer scheduling meets demand and update changes with Melbourne Operations.
- Process warranty claims promptly in line with company expectations.
- Forecast and plan trailer and stock inventory with both customers and Head Office.
- Provide technical consultation to customers and the public.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven leadership, managerial, and interpersonal skills.
- Computer skills – Word/Excel/Microsoft Office (SAP an advantage).
- Forklift Licence.
- Current Driver’s Licence with good record.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in boating/trailers/leisure industry advantageous but not essential.

Supported by: General Manager – Head of Sales
Direct reports: Office Administrator QLD, Warehouse/Assembly Staff QLD
Hours of Work
Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
