About the Role We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Manager with strong sales and commercial experience, ideally in the plastic packaging sector. This role is key to driving profitable growth by identifying new business opportunities, nurturing key customer relationships, and expanding our presence across food, beverage, healthcare, personal care, and FMCG markets. An understanding of thermoforming and/or blow moulding processes, along with a solid grasp of packaging design and manufacturing, will be highly regarded. Key Responsibilities Drive profitable revenue growth in line with the company’s 3-Year Strategic Business Plan Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities across target industries Support and grow key customer relationships to increase share of wallet and account retention Maintain a strong understanding of our packaging products and services to develop tailored solutions Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to position the company for sustainable growth Deliver accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, budgeting, and updates to strategic planning Produce and deliver professional proposals and presentations Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders including design and production teams Desired Background Industry Experience Plastic packaging – thermoforming and/or blow moulding (ideal) Packaging development and/or manufacturing Sales experience in industries such as food, cosmetics/personal care, pharmaceutical, home care, or FMCG Technical & Commercial Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Familiarity with CRM systems (NetSuite preferred) Strong commercial acumen: pricing strategy, cost drivers, profit margins, and competitive positioning Personal Attributes & Soft Skills Excellent communication and presentation skills Entrepreneurial mindset with a technical aptitude Customer-focused with strong problem-solving ability High emotional intelligence and ability to build trust-based relationships Naturally curious, with a consultative sales approach Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, target-driven environment Strategic thinker who collaborates effectively across teams Holds a current and valid driver’s license
