The Role
The Apprenticeship Policy Branch is responsible for the design and develop policies to build a pipeline of skilled workers using apprenticeship pathways to meet current and emerging workforce needs, including key strategic sectors; clean energy, care, digital and advanced manufacturing. The Branch delivers a number of the Government's key election commitments and Jobs and Skills Summit outcomes, including development of the Advanced Entry Trades Training Program, designed and supporting implementation of the Key Apprenticeships Program, supported the delivery of the Strategic Review of the Australian Apprenticeships Incentives System (the Review), and is currently leading the Governments Response to the Review which includes leading Gateway Consultations for new approach to Apprenticeship Priority List; refocusing support services to ensure more apprentices remain in training and complete their qualifications.

* Have an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples (Identified position criteria)
* Have an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people (Identified position criteria)
The Opportunity
This position is available to Ongoing Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and/or APS employees as a temporary transfer at level and/or a temporary performance (Acting) opportunity for a period of approx. 6 months.
Eligibility
Our successful candidate will need to hold a valid Negative Vetting 1 clearance to undertake the role.
