This position involves managing budget systems and data services within the Tasmanian Government. The role includes supporting the preparation of the department's annual budget, developing and maintaining systems to ensure budget compliance, and overseeing the Department’s Chart of Accounts. The successful candidate will also provide high-level support and advice on resourcing and budgeting, supervise team members, and contribute to strategic policy development.

Hours per fortnight
Up to 73.5 hours with flexible options available.
Duties
1. Manage efficient and effective budget systems and data services, including key annual processes.
2. Support the preparation of the department's annual budget and coordinate related processes.
3. Develop and maintain systems to ensure budget management within approved allocations and legislative compliance.
4. Coordinate annual salary budget formulation and liaise with relevant departments and agencies.
5. Oversee maintenance and development of budget systems, including reconciliation with Treasury systems.
6. Provide support and advice on resourcing and budget matters for departmental initiatives and stakeholders.
7. Supervise and direct the Financial Systems team members.
8. Manage the Department’s Chart of Accounts to support financial strategies.
9. Contribute to strategy, policy, and project management related to budget systems.
10. Conduct complex analysis on budget systems, providing high-level advice and solutions to senior management.
Qualifications: Appropriate tertiary qualifications or significant progress towards such, and membership or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional body.
