Position Overview
As an Administration Officer in Animal Services at UNSW, you will support animal research facilities by delivering high‐quality administrative and financial support. This full‐time (35-hr week) 12-month fixed‐term contract position offers a salary of $103,866-$110,801 plus 17% superannuation and is based in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and manage administrative systems, processes and reporting within Animal Services.
* Develop and maintain procedures, providing expert advice on administrative guidelines and practices.
* Support implementation of policies and ensure effective operational compliance.
* Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring service delivery meets demand.
* Oversee financial administration including purchasing, expense processing, reconciliations and billing.
* Provide secretariat support to committees and meetings.
* Support delivery of division-wide projects, initiatives and ad hoc programs.
* Monitor budgets and ensure timely, accurate financial processing.
* Facilitate procurement and asset management in line with UNSW policies.
* Maintain compliance‐related data systems (e.g. animal ethics, WHS, restricted substances).
Qualifications and Experience
* A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated experience in financial and administrative functions, preferably in a university or similar environment.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong time‐management and problem‐solving abilities.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative systems.
* Sound numeracy skills and the ability to interpret financial information.
* A commitment to customer‐service excellence and continuous improvement.
* Understanding of health and safety responsibilities and UNSW values.
