Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

Who we're looking for
As a Business Readiness Technical Writer, you'll support the Tanami Expansion 2 (TE2) project by creating and updating technical documents for Mine Maintenance (MIN-MAN). Reporting to the Business Readiness Lead, you'll work closely with Newmont Tanami Operations (NTO) on this major Northern Territory-based project.
As Part Of Our Team You Will
* Build strong knowledge of the mine site, equipment, maintenance strategies, and key stakeholders.
* Work with site teams and experts to create clear, practical technical documentation for equipment maintenance and operations.
* Develop step-by-step instructions and training materials to support safe, efficient underground mining.
* Ensure all documentation meets Newmont's global standards and supports compliance with site procedures.
* Keep the Business Readiness Lead updated with progress to support accurate planning and forecasting.
Prerequisites For Your Success In This Role
* Trade-qualified in Mechanical and Electrical disciplines preferred with mining industry experience.
* Strong knowledge of shaft hoisting systems, crushing and conveyor circuits, and related infrastructure.
* Proven ability to produce high-quality, step-by-step technical documentation tailored for tradespeople and operators.
* Proficient in technical writing software packages (e.g. route maintenance, zone maintenance) and CMMS platforms like SAP
* Strong communication, computer literacy, and ability to work independently to produce high-quality, practical documentation.
