About the role
Reporting to the chef manager, we are seeking a casual weekend Chef to work in our kitchen team at our client's canteen facility in Dubbo.
Roster:
Saturday and Sunday from 6am till 14.30pm and 10.30am till 19.00pm.
Weekend and Public Holiday Loadings apply.
Skills and experience
* 3+ years experience in a similar role
* Cert III in commercial cookery desirable
* Experience in large volume cooking as well as work autonomously and in group settings
* Reliable and punctual
* Collaborative and team player
* Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines
* Experienced in ordering, delivery and handling/control of stock
* Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients
* High level of QA, WH&S, HACCP and Food Safety knowledge
Key responsibilities
* Ability to produce high quality meals in line with food service/HACCP guidelines, Quality Assurance procedures
* Assisting in menu design, changes and implementation
* Assist with putting away of deliveries & general kitchen clean up duties
* Responsible for preparation of special diets
* Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task
* Function within a busy kitchen whilst working harmoniously with the team
